Andy Cotnam

Andy Cotnam has been a concept artist in video games for over 15 years, working on the titles Age of Mythology, Age of Empires III, Wildstar and Hero Academy 2, In his heart of hearts though, he’s a comics guy. Someday, he’ll quit making them vid-ee-yah games for the man, and go make hisself one-ah them thar picture books with the balloons fer talking….Someday.

Andy Cotnam graduated from Sheridan College in 2000 with a degree in Classical Animation, the year hand-drawn animation collapsed. He accepted a lifeboat from a well respected game studio in Dallas, and spent the next 20+ years working in games. Then, in the early 2020’s, private-equity bought up all the game studios and rewarded record profit with layoffs and studio closures.

Now, Andy roams the barren art-wastelands, machete in one hand and a pencil the other, searching for water and maybe a comic gig. He always wanted to make one of those. Follow him at:
